Criminal case initiated against suspected fraud

The prosecutor’s office continues to take measures to identify and bring to justice those who violate the rights of citizens, reports oxu.az.

Thus, as a result of an investigation conducted on the basis of information received about the illegal actions of Syupkhan Tagiyev, a criminal case was initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In the course of the investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that S. Tagiyev, introducing himself in the Sumgayit city education department as an employee of the prosecutor’s office named Anar, demanded to provide him with data on candidates for vacancies in the supposedly newly created departments of the press service of the supervisory agency, which require teachers for specialty. In exchange for a false promise to provide this job to a citizen whose candidacy was proposed, on February 2, 2021, S. Tagiyev fraudulently defrauded him of 2,500 manats.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
