Officials arrested

As a result of operational and search activities carried out in connection with the illegal actions of officials of the Absheron Territorial Department No. 4 of the State Real Estate Registry Service of the State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General, reports ozu.az with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The investigation had reasonable suspicions that Aidash Mammadov, who worked as a specialist in this organization, together with his colleague Mirgamid Agayev, in 2019-2022, fraudulently received 12,000 manats as a bribe from persons who applied for approval of schemes and issuance of technical passports for land plots in the region.

In addition, an employee of this structure, expert Araz Hasanly and intermediary Nurlan Seyidov, fraudulently embezzled 53,700 manats from citizens who applied for paperwork for land plots and an extract, incited them to bribe an official.

A. Mammadov, M. Agayev, A. Gasanli and N. Seyidov were charged under Articles 178.2.1 (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior agreement), 178.2.2 (fraud committed repeatedly), 178.2. committed by a person using his official position), 32.4, 312.2 (incitement by an official to repeatedly give a bribe for committing knowingly illegal actions) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against them.

Currently, investigative and operational measures are underway to identify other persons involved in the commission of crimes.
