The illegal actions of the director of the Shirvan branch of the State Archives of Azerbaijan have been exposed. This is reported by the Internet news portal report.az with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
As a result of urgent operational and search activities carried out in connection with the illegal actions of the branch director Hamlet Huseynov, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
As a result of the operational and investigative measures taken, reasonable suspicions arose that Hamlet Huseynov, having abused his official powers while working in the above position, in April-May 2022 received money as a bribe from citizens who applied to obtain the necessary documents on land from the archive sites, as well as fake archival certificates in order to overestimate the length of service.
Hamlet Huseynov was charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of official authority resulting in grave consequences) and 311.3.2 (repeated bribe taking).
Currently, the necessary investigative and operational measures are being taken to establish the circle of perpetrators and other illegal actions of the accused.
