As a result of operational activities carried out in the district, employees of the Agdash District Police Department (RPD) detained nine people suspected of drug trafficking and theft, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is noted that a resident of the Agdash region, previously convicted, Samed Abbasov, suspected of possessing a large amount of narcotic drugs, was detained. During an inspection of his home, 37 bags of marijuana with a total weight of more than 2 kg were discovered and seized.
As a result of other operations carried out by RUP officers, seven more people suspected of illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were detained. During a personal search, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine were found on them.
In early November, the police received information about the theft of tobacco products from a store located in the village of Piraza. As a result of operational search activities, a resident of the Kurdamir district, Samir Babayev, who had previously been repeatedly convicted of theft, was detained on suspicion of committing a crime. During the investigation, it was established that the same person committed theft in the Agsu district. In his testimony, he admitted to what he had done and noted that he took the stolen goods to the capital, where he sold them.
Based on these facts, criminal cases have been initiated, and investigative and operational activities are ongoing.
