Court judgement in the case of a former employee of the Ministry of Justice

The Ganja Court of Appeal has completed its consideration of the appeal against the judgement of Razim Aliyev, accused of fraud and incitement to bribery in the Shamkir region, oxu.az reports. The appeal was not satisfied by the court.
Based on materials received from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and requests to the call center 161 of the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General in connection with the illegal actions of Razim Aliyev, who worked as the executive director in the Shamkir district department of execution and probation of the Ministry of Justice, a criminal case was initiated case.
The investigation established that during 2019-2020, Razim Aliyev embezzled a total of 40,600 manats from seven citizens, abusing his official position. He was charged under articles 178.2 (fraud, that is, taking possession of someone else’s property or acquiring the right to someone else’s property by deception or abuse of trust), 179.2.3 (embezzlement or embezzlement by a person using his official position) and 32.4, 312.2 (repeated incitement to giving a bribe to an official for committing obviously illegal actions/inaction) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.
The Ganja Grave Crimes Court sentenced him to two years in prison
