In order to deceive citizens in the process of ƏDV geri al (“Get VAT back”), a fake website www.edv-geri.com was created. Relevant information was disseminated in various discussion groups. Oxu.az reports this fact with reference to the Electronic Security Service (ESS).
The SEB reported that through the website, citizens first had to enter the FİN code (individual identification number) of their identity card, and then the bank card details, supposedly to transfer the collected VAT to it.
“The Electronic Security Service advises citizens not to trust fake sites, not to click on suspicious links and not to provide a bank card number or other personal information to strangers,” the message says.
