The trial of the head of the Ministry of Defense accused of embezzling 9 million manats begins

A preliminary investigation into the criminal case against the head of the Financial Service of the Education and Training Center of the Azerbaijan Army, subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Rashad Melikzade, has been completed. APA reports that the materials of the criminal case collected against the accused have been sent to the Baku Military Court for consideration. The criminal case was transferred to judge Rafig Abbasov.

The court granted the petition and chose a preventive measure against the colonel in the form of arrest for 4 months. Rashad Melikzadeh was charged under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement on an especially large scale). He is accused of embezzlement of funds amounting to about 9 million manats.
