Under unclear circumstances, 15,000 manat in cash and jewelry worth 5,000 manat were stolen from a house in the Khatai district of Baku, Oxu.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As a result of operations conducted by officers from the 35th Police Station of the Khatai District Police Department, a suspect, 30-year-old I. Huseynov, a relative of the victim, was detained.

The investigation revealed that he had entered the house at various times and stolen cash and jewelry.

A criminal case has been opened, and the investigation is ongoing.

A safe containing 500 manat in cash and gift coupons worth 1,950 manat was stolen from a retail outlet in Baku’s Narimanov District.

According to Oxu.Az, an unknown assailant took advantage of the store’s employees’ busy work and quietly stole the safe. The thief then carried it out the back door of the store.

As a result of investigations by officers from the 16th Police Station of the Narimanov District Police Department, 25-year-old Maxim Makhmudov, a suspect, was identified and detained.

An investigation is underway.
