8 kg of heroin seized from drug courier

Law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan conducted an operation in the Astara district as part of the fight against the distribution of narcotics, 8 kg of heroin were seized. This was reported to Report by the Lankaran regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As a result of operational activities carried out by employees of the Astara district police department, the sale of a large batch of narcotics smuggled into Azerbaijan was prevented.

During the activities, previously convicted 44-year-old Mirtaleh Agayev was detained, who was found to have 8 kg of heroin. During the investigation, it was established that M. Agayev received drugs from an Iranian citizen and was going to deliver them to various addresses.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact, an investigation is underway.
