In Yasamal district, police seized 25 kg of narcotics

Employees of the Yasamal District Police Department (DPD) have identified about 60 cases related to the illegal trafficking and sale of drugs during operations conducted since the beginning of 2025, Oxu.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that during the latest such operations, 18 kg of heroin, as well as marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances, were found on Natavan Bakhshiyeva, Jeyhun Makhmudov, Tural Najafzade and Gyulali Sagiyev.

In total, since the beginning of the year, 25 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances of various types have been seized from illegal circulation by DPD employees. Most of the detainees stated that they purchased the drugs both for personal use and for sale.

An investigation is underway into these cases.

“Efforts are ongoing to establish the identity and bring to criminal responsibility other members of the drug network, which included the detained individuals,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
