72 kg of drugs seized from circulation in Baku

72 kg of drugs have been seized from circulation in Baku, APA reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result of another special operation conducted by the Main Department for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Sabunchu and Nizami districts of Baku, previously convicted 40-year-old Alim Khalilov and 33-year-old Afgan Dunyamaliyev were detained. During a search of their homes and cars, 72 kg of marijuana, opium and methamphetamine were found and seized.

In their testimony, the detainees reported that they purchased the drugs for delivery to certain addresses through an Iranian citizen, whose identity has not been established by the investigation.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen for the detainees by a court decision.
