Trial of hacker arrested in Azerbaijani State Security Service operation begins

The trial of Tural Aliyev, accused of illegally acquiring computer information and arrested as a result of an operation carried out by the State Security Service, has begun. According to APA, the hearing is being held in the Yasamal District Court under the chairmanship of Judge Rashad Javadzade.

The indictment was read out during the trial. According to the prosecution, Tural Aliyev, while working as the executive director of Zeromap LLC, created software in 2021–2024 and used it to carry out illegal activities by accessing mobile phones of individuals and legal entities. In addition, on December 22, 2022, he gained access to classified information of Israeli companies, as well as to data of a number of companies located in the United States. The accused then testified. He stated that he partially admits his guilt.

The trial will continue on March 18.

Tural Aliyev was detained as a result of an operation conducted by the State Security Service. The accused was charged under Articles 271.2.1, 272.2.1, 273-1.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
