Fishermen found with 10 kg of drugs in Caspian Sea

An attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs to Azerbaijan has been thwarted. According to APA, the information about this was disseminated by the press center of the State Border Service.

Measures are being taken to ensure reliable protection of the maritime borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, strengthen control over compliance with the regime in the Caspian Sea, and combat illegal trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

On March 6, at the service station of the Coast Guard Service of the State Border Service, during an inspection of a boat belonging to residents of the Lankaran region engaged in fishing in the territorial waters of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea – Mustafayev Dayanet Aladdin oglu (born in 1979) and Agaoglu Elshan Alish oglu (born in 1980), a border patrol found 10 kg 385 grams of marijuana.

Operational and investigative activities are ongoing.
