Russia extradited four people wanted by Azerbaijan

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation granted the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan to extradite four Azerbaijani citizens, they were extradited to Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan.

According to the information of the department, in accordance with the provisions of the Convention “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases” of October 7, 2002, the requests of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to extradite citizens of Azerbaijan – Orujov Emil Mail oglu, Alekperov Babek Faig oglu, Gurbanov Baloglan Yashar oglu and Mamedov Vagif Elyaz oglu – were satisfied by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

“Reasonable suspicions were established with respect to the said persons in committing crimes stipulated by the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard, decisions were made to bring them as defendants. Since they were hiding from the investigation, they were put on the international wanted list,” the Prosecutor General’s Office emphasizes.

All four, detained in the territory of the Russian Federation, were extradited to Azerbaijan under the escort of a special unit of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
