Over 41,000 manats stolen from citizens’ bank cards over the weekend

Over the past weekend — April 12 and 13 — 41,048 manats were stolen from the bank cards of Azerbaijani citizens, Report informs with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the thefts were committed using various cyber fraud schemes.

The amounts of illegal write-offs ranged from several dozen manats to more than 11,000 manats.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again called on citizens to be vigilant and attentive to all incoming calls, especially with offers of quick income, insurance payments or requests to confirm banking transactions. The department strongly recommends not to share confidential bank card data with anyone and to be aware of possible cyber threats.
