Azerbaijani border guards shot down a UAV with drugs on the border with Iran

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan continues to successfully implement measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

As reported by Oxu.Az with reference to the information of the press center of the State Border Service, on April 6, as a result of joint actions of the border guards of the Horadiz detachment and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an attempt to transfer a large batch of drugs from Iran to the territory of Azerbaijan using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was prevented.

The total weight of the seized drugs was 14 kg 240 g, of which 14 kg 200 g was marijuana and 40 g was methamphetamine.

Investigative and operational activities are ongoing on this fact.
