About 300 thousand manat stolen from citizens’ bank cards in a week

From April 7 to 13, 284,528 manat and 595 US dollars were stolen from citizens’ bank cards, Report informs with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The thefts were committed using various cyber fraud schemes.

According to statistics, about 67 thousand manat  were stolen from citizens cards on April 7 and on April 13 – up to 13,818 manat.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again called on citizens to be vigilant and attentive to all incoming calls, especially with offers of quick money, insurance payments or requests to confirm banking transactions. The department strongly recommends not to share confidential bank card data with anyone and to be aware of possible cyber threats.
