Sentence passed in terrorism financing case

The final court hearing was held in the criminal case against Abit Mardanov, accused of financing terrorism, oxu.az reports. The Sheki Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Gunay Ashurova, read out the sentence, according to which the defendant was deprived of liberty for 10 years and 6 months.

It is noted that A. Mardanov was detained in March last year as a result of operational activities carried out by the State Security Service.

He was charged under Article 214-1 (financing terrorism) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
