Person detained on suspicion of extorting about 170 thousand manats

A man suspected of extorting a large sum of money under the threat of disseminating compromising information has been detained in Baku. As Report informs with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 45-year-old resident of the capital filed a complaint with the police against an acquaintance who threatened to disclose defamatory information and thereby received 169,100 manats from him.

During operational activities, police officers detained 41-year-old G. Efendiyev, suspected of committing a crime.

A criminal case has been opened, an investigation is underway.
