Forwarder convicted of embezzlement of large sum of money

The Siyazan District Court has completed the investigation of the criminal case against Nihad Mailov (name and surname conditional – ed.), accused of embezzlement of funds. As reported by oxu.az, at the trial chaired by Judge Beylyar Alakbarov, the verdict was read out, according to which the defendant was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. He was arrested in the courtroom.

According to the charges, N. Mailov worked as a sales representative (forwarder) in one of the LLCs engaged in the import and sale of food and non-food products. From March 2, 2022 to August 1, 2023, he received food and non-food products from the company’s warehouse located in the Guba district for sale at retail outlets operating in the Siyazan district. Then Nihad sold these goods at facilities that had trade relations with the LLC in the territory of the Siyazan district and appropriated the proceeds in the amount of 31,235.93 manat.
