Sentenced to 5 years for stealing watches worth 85 thousand manats

The trial of Chinese citizens Zhang Guomin and Liu Bo, accused of stealing expensive watches from the VMF Continental store in Baku, has ended, Report informs. The indictment was announced in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Leyla Askerova-Mamedova.

The indictment states that these individuals asked the seller to look at a Breguet wristwatch worth 85 thousand manats in the VMF Continental store located in the Yasamal district of Baku. Then Liu Bo distracted the seller’s attention, and Zhang Guomin managed to hide them.

The suspects in the theft were detained by police officers while trying to leave the country. During the investigation, they pleaded guilty. Guomin expressed his willingness to compensate for the cost of the watches from VMF.

The state prosecutor demanded 7 years for each of the accused. By the court’s verdict, they were sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment. The accused will be deported from the country after serving their sentences.
