Oxu.Az reports 31,340 manats were stolen from citizens’ bank cards in Azerbaijan over the past 24 hours. This was reported by Oxu.Az with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Cybercriminals, using various fraudulent schemes, withdrew various amounts from cards – from 22 to 7,845 manats.
The department called on citizens to be extremely careful when handling personal banking data and reminded that the CVV/CVC code, OTP codes, logins and passwords, as well as PIN codes are confidential information. “If you transfer this data to third parties, you risk losing all funds in the account. If there is no money on the balance, the attackers can take out a loan in your name,” the statement says.
Citizens are strongly advised to be vigilant when receiving suspicious calls or messages offering easy money, insurance, etc.
