The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has sentenced three people to lengthy prison terms for armed robbery committed for profit after meeting on a social network. As Report informs, Mamikhan Mammadov and Sadig Azizov were sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison, and Sultan Hasretov to 8 years.
According to the case materials, Hasretova met Vusal Zeynalov on Instagram and invited him to a rented house in the Khatai district of Baku. Then, as per the preliminary agreement, Mammadov and Azizov burst into the house. Mammadov introduced himself as Hasretova’s husband and, allegedly out of jealousy, using Hasretova’s correspondence with Zeynalov as a pretext, inflicted minor bodily harm on the latter. Using threats and force, they took the victim’s wristwatch and withdrew about 1,450 manats from his bank cards.
All three were found guilty of armed robbery committed by a group of people by prior agreement.
