The trial of Ivan Nikolaevich Svetlichny, accused of treason, has ended, Report informs. The verdict was read out at a hearing in the Baku Grave Crimes Court chaired by Judge Aygun Gurbanova. By the court’s decision, Ivan Svetlichny was sentenced to 16 years and 1 month in prison.
Azerbaijani citizen Ivan Svetlichny was accused of intentional treason in the form of espionage to the detriment of state security, sovereignty and defense capability, as well as carrying out assignments from foreign intelligence services (Article 274 (treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan).
