Azerbaijani border guards have prevented an attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran using an unmanned aerial vehicle, Report informs citing the State Border Service. The incident occurred in the territory of responsibility of the Goytepe border detachment.
As a result of operational activities, residents of the Masalli district Mehraliyev Namik Hamil oglu (born in 1996), Babayev Peyman Ahmed oglu (born in 1993) and a resident of the city of Baku Javadov Muhammad Rashid oglu (born in 1993) were detained as suspects, who were heading towards the border in a Toyota Prius with the state registration number 54-BK-650.
It was established that the detainees arrived at the scene with the purpose of exporting a total of 53 kg 865 g of narcotics.
Investigative measures are ongoing regarding the fact.
