The persons who smuggled a large consignment of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan have been detained. This was reported to APA by the press center of the State Border Service.
It is reported that on April 26, at the service area of the Lankaran border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, a border patrol noticed 7 unknown persons who were trying to violate the state border from the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
One of the border violators was neutralized, three fled. The border outpost was raised on the command “To arms!”, the service area was completely closed. The border patrol ordered the border violators to stop and began pursuing them, opening warning fire in the air. However, the violators did not obey the order, offered armed resistance and opened fire on the border guards.
As a result of the use of weapons by the border patrol in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the State Border”, one of the border violators was neutralized at the scene, and three others, who offered armed resistance, managed to escape in the opposite direction. As a result of border search and operational activities carried out jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, three people were detained – residents of the Balakan region Ibragimov Rajab Muhammad oglu (born in 1998), Isayev Isa Magomedovich (born in 1990) and Uzunov Kamran Kamaldin oglu (born in 1982).
More than 51 kg of drugs and psychotropic substances were found on the territory
During the inspection of the territory, 3 packages with a total weight of 51 kg 884 grams of a substance resembling drugs and a large number of psychotropic tablets were found and seized.
