The state prosecutor demands severe punishment for those accused of embezzling funds collected for children with thalassemia

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes continues to consider the case of fraud with the misappropriation of funds collected for children with thalassemia and other diseases.

As Report informs, at the trial chaired by Judge Azad Majidov, the state prosecutor demanded that Nurida Seyidova be sentenced to 9 years and 6 months, Aynur Bayramova to 9 years, and Aysel Mammadova to 8 years in prison.

According to the prosecution, the defendants, acting together, appropriated about 980 thousand manats collected for the treatment of 36 children in Turkey. Civil claims for a total of 25,500 manats were also filed as part of the case.

All three have been charged under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (fraud causing major damage).
