Over 30,000 manats stolen from citizens’ bank cards in one day

Over 30,000 manats were stolen from the bank cards of Azerbaijani citizens last day. As the Ministry of Internal Affairs told Report, cybercriminals stole various amounts from the cards using various fraudulent schemes — from 70 to 13,665 manats.

The department called on citizens to be extremely careful when handling personal banking data and reminded that the CVV/CVC code, OTP codes, logins and passwords, as well as PIN codes are confidential information. “If you transfer this data to third parties, you risk losing all funds in the account. If there is no money on the balance, the attackers can apply for a loan in your name,” the statement says.

Citizens are strongly advised to be vigilant when receiving suspicious calls or messages with offers of easy money, insurance, etc.
