Suspected drug courier detained with 19 kg of drugs

A drug courier with 19 kg of drugs received from an Iranian citizen has been detained in the Absheron region, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

37-year-old Elvin Guliyev was detained during an operation conducted in the region. During the inspection of his car, 14 kg of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances, as well as 5 kg of heroin and methamphetamine were found.

E. Guliyev stated that he received the drugs through an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation, in the Garadagh region and intended to deliver them to different addresses.

A criminal case has been initiated on the fact. A preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen for the detainee by a court decision. Operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
