The State Security Service and the State Border Service conducted a joint operation, seized over 30 kg of drugs

The State Security Service (SSS) and the State Border Service (SBS) conducted a joint operation to detain a drug courier.

As reported by Report, Azerbaijani citizen Aliyev Shahriyar Vagif oglu (born in 1991), having entered into a conspiracy with a person living abroad, agreed in advance that after receiving a large batch of marijuana smuggled in the Beylagan district, he would hide the drugs in Baku. Sh. Aliyev took the drugs from a hiding place in the village of Akhmedli in the Beylagan district and was detained as a result of joint operational and investigative activities conducted by the State Security Service and the State Border Service.

During the inspection, marijuana weighing more than 30 kg was found and seized from him.

Sh. Aliyev was brought to criminal responsibility under Articles 206.3.2, 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and by a court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.

Investigative and operational activities are currently ongoing.
