Customs authorities prevented an attempt to sell a large batch of contraband cigarettes

A large number of excise-free cigarettes without markings have been seized in Baku, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the State Customs Committee. Thus, employees of the Main Customs Administration for Excise Goods, as part of the measures taken, prevented two cases of selling large batches of cigarettes without excise stamps of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

51,200 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps were found in a residential building used as a warehouse in the Nasimi district of the capital. Another 45,000 packs of unmarked cigarettes were seized from a private house in the Mushfigabad settlement of the Garadagh district.

In total, customs officers confiscated 96,200 packs of cigarettes in two cases, preventing their illegal sale.
