48 kg of drugs have been seized in Absheron district, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The operation was carried out by officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs.
During the operation, 38-year-old Sayyad Khatamov, previously convicted of drug-related crimes, was detained. During a personal search and a search of his house, 48 kg of marijuana and opium with impurities, 300 tablets with psychotropic content, as well as electronic scales used for packing drugs were found.
According to the detainee, the drugs were given to him by an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established. Khatamov was supposed to deliver the drugs to different addresses in order to earn income.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact. Khatamov has been remanded in custody by the court decision.
