Fake employee of the Special Affairs Department committed fraud worth 85 thousand manats

A man who pretended to be an employee of the Special Affairs and Relations Department and committed fraud was detained and arrested by police officers in Baku. As reported by Oxu.Az, 45-year-old Tural Mammadov is accused of abuse of trust and extorting 85,000 manats from an acquaintance by promising him an appointment to the position of head of an aviation company in 2021.

Over the past 4 years, T. Mammadov has repeatedly changed his false promises, telling the victim that his case had already been decided, that he had given the order, and the delay in the order was due to an ongoing investigation, and offered him other positions. Realizing that he had been deceived, the citizen contacted the Khazar District Police Department of the capital with a complaint about the actions of the said person.

Other fraudulent actions by T. Mammadov, in respect of whom a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen in the criminal case, cannot be ruled out.

Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
