Police detain suspect in 300,000 manat fraud

A man suspected of fraud under the pretext of importing cars from Asia has been arrested in Baku. As Report informs, 34-year-old Azer Shirvanzade has been brought to justice in a criminal case initiated by the Khatai District Police Department.

According to the investigation, Shirvanzade presented himself as the director of various companies, offered services for the delivery of cars from abroad to Azerbaijan, and also rented out cars with subsequent sale through leasing.

Thus, he took possession of funds from 19 citizens for a total of more than 300,000 manat.

The investigation into the fact is ongoing. The involvement of the detainee in other episodes of fraud is not excluded.
