The trial of Abdulla Aliyev, accused of preparing a terrorist attack, has begun in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes. As reported by oxu.az, during the first session, chaired by Judge Aygun Gurbanova, the defendant’s personal data was clarified. The trial is scheduled for June 2.
A. Aliyev has been charged under Articles 28,214.2.1, 28,214.2.3, 28,214.2.6 (preparation for a terrorist act based on religious hatred, religious radicalism or religious fanaticism by a group of persons by prior agreement, an organized group or a criminal community using firearms and objects used as weapons), 218.2 (participation in a criminal community/organization, as well as in an association of organizers, leaders or other representatives of organized groups) of the Criminal Code.
According to law enforcement agencies, Aliyev was detained by the State Security Service (SSS) while preparing an attack on a synagogue in Baku using Molotov cocktails.
