The head of a drug cartel wanted in Russia for 11 years detained

A citizen of Tajikistan, Emomov Tagaymurod, accused of importing more than several hundred kilograms of heroin into the Russian Federation, has been detained in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
“Emomov Tagaymurod was wanted for more than 11 years on charges of trafficking in narcotics on an especially large scale. He is currently awaiting extradition to the territory of the Russian Federation,” law enforcement agencies reported.
According to investigators, the accused is guilty of organizing especially dangerous crimes in the sphere of drug trafficking. Emomov imported hundreds of kilograms of heroin into Russia through a network of couriers. Many of the perpetrators in this case had previously been brought to criminal responsibility and also testified against Emomov as the organizer, and some have already been released from prison.
