Operation in Balaken: drugs seized

As a result of the operation carried out by the Balaken District Police Department, the sale of a large batch of drugs illegally imported into the country was prevented, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the events, 40-year-old E. Ekyayev, previously convicted several times for drug trafficking, was detained. More than 4 kg of marijuana and electronic scales were found on him. During interrogation, the detainee stated that he purchased part of the drugs from a certain Gunel.

Law enforcement officers identified and detained Gunel Ibishova, wanted for illegal activities. At her place of residence, 2 kg 700 g of marijuana and 2,412 methadone tablets were found buried in the ground. G. Ibishova stated that she purchased the drugs from an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation.

A criminal case was opened on this fact, and the court decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of arrest on both individuals.
