In Gedabey, former employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Nijat Iskenderov robbed his friend Rafail’s car. As reported by Oxu.Az, N. Iskenderov divorced his wife, who was raising three children, and was obliged to pay monthly alimony. Unable to pay off the debt, he quit the MES and began to earn extra money using Rafail’s Hyundai Santa Fe. The friend repeatedly trusted Nijat with his car and took money from the bag in the trunk in his presence.
Once again, desperate to find money for alimony, N. Iskenderov decided to steal. Under the pretext of traveling on business, he borrowed a car. Arriving in the regional center, the attacker opened the bag and stole a large sum of money and gold jewelry, after which he returned the bag to its place.
The next morning, Rafail, having received the car back, discovered that valuables worth 12,000 manat had been stolen. Despite Nijat’s assurances of innocence, the victim filed a complaint with the police. Investigative measures confirmed Iskenderov’s guilt.
He was detained, a criminal case was opened on this fact, which was sent to court.
By the court’s decision, Nijat Iskenderov was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment and arrested in the courtroom.
