Electronic Security Service: citizens are being deceived with fake QR codes in public places

The Electronic Security Service (ESS) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has called on citizens to be vigilant against fake QR codes on the streets, at bus stops, in parks and other public places. As reported by Oxu.Az, this was reported by the ESS.
It is noted that recently, colorful posters with QR codes under the slogan SCAN ME have been seen on the streets, at bus stops, in parks and other public places, as well as on social networks. With the help of these QR codes, citizens are redirected to fake Telegram channels with job offers, discount campaigns or career opportunities, and personal data is requested from them using social engineering methods. Citizens are mainly required to provide bank card details, copies of identity cards, personal photos (selfies) and confirmation codes sent via SMS. Using this data, attempts are made to gain access to bank accounts and apply for online loans.
The Electronic Security Service recommends that citizens be attentive to unknown QR codes on random street posters or on social networks and under no circumstances share bank card details and other personal information with unknown sources.
