In May of this year, 27 people were detained in Azerbaijan for violating the state border, Report informs citing the State Border Service (SBS). 7 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 5 of Iran, 5 of Afghanistan, 5 of Pakistan, 3 of Morocco, 1 of Yemen, and 1 of Sri Lanka.
As a result of measures to combat illegal migration, 8 people were detained while attempting to cross the state border with forged stamps and passports, as well as with someone else’s documents. In addition, 780 people were detained for violating border regulations, and appropriate measures were taken against them.
As a result of measures to combat crime, 328 wanted persons were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities by law enforcement officers, 499 persons were banned from leaving the country, and 20 were banned from entering the country.
