Employees of the Sabunchu District Police Department conducted a special operation against illegal drug trafficking, 7 people were detained, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The detainees – previously convicted 43-year-old Ilyas Huseynzade, 32-year-old Ilkin Aliyev, 49-year-old Fakhraddin Kazimov, 31-year-old Gyulaga Jafarov, 32-year-old Nargiz Guliyeva, 57-year-old Shirzad Shirinov and 39-year-old Anar Yusifov – were brought to criminal responsibility. A total of 18 kg of narcotics, including heroin, marijuana, opium, as well as the psychotropic substance methamphetamine, were seized from them.
During the preliminary investigation, the suspects said that they were recruited as drug couriers by Iranian citizens whom they met through social networks. They agreed to this activity in exchange for earnings.
Since the beginning of the year, employees of the Sabunchi RUP have seized 56 kg of narcotics from illegal circulation during special operations.
