The trial of Jamaladdin Jafarov, accused of giving false information about terrorism, has ended. As Report informs, the indictment was announced at the trial chaired by Judge Sabuhi Huseynov in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.
The indictment states that on January 29 of this year, Jafarov called the 102 hotline of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and gave false information about an explosive device allegedly planted in a hotel near the Sahil metro station. He pleaded guilty to the charges and expressed remorse. The prosecutor demanded that Jafarov be deprived of freedom for 6 years and 6 months, but the court sentenced him to 5 years in prison.
Jamaladdin Jafarov was detained and brought to justice as an accused under Article 216 (deliberately false report of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.
