A suspect in committing fraud against citizens has been detained in the city of Lankaran, Oxu.Az reports, citing the Lankaran regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A 73-year-old woman who contacted the district police department stated that she had been deceived under the pretext of her son’s alleged release from prison, and 22,200 manats had been taken from her. As a result of operational and investigative measures, 34-year-old Ramin Ganiyev, a suspect in committing fraud, was detained.
During the investigation, it was revealed that R. Ganiyev, making promises to other citizens about creating a profitable business, stole funds worth a total of 72,400 manats: one got 40,000 manats, and the other got 6,000 dollars.
A criminal case has been opened on these facts, and the court has decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of arrest on R. Ganiyev. The investigation is ongoing.
