A preparatory court hearing was held in Baku on the criminal case against athletes Elnur Gamidov, Emil Humbatov, Elchin Huseynov, Elvin Mammadov, Musa Akhmedov and Ramal Aslanov, accused of attacking a major of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan. As reported by Oxu.Az, at the hearing held in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Elmin Rustamov, the personal data of the accused were clarified. A decision was also made to transfer the criminal case for trial.
The next court hearing is scheduled for June 25.
By the decision of the Khatai District Court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months was chosen for the detained E. Gamidov, E. Huseynov and M. Akhmedov. E. Mammadov was transferred to police supervision. They were charged under Articles 221.2.1 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons) and 221.3 (hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or objects) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
