A person accused of preparing an assassination attempt on the head of the Lankaran district executive authority sentenced

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has sentenced Bahruz Askerov, who was found guilty of preparing an assassination attempt on the head of the Lankaran executive authority, Taleh Garashov, to 15 years in prison, Report informs.

It is noted that within the framework of the investigation conducted by the State Security Service, Askerov Bahruz Alimamed oglu, born in 1988, was detained and then arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.

According to the indictment, Bahruz Askerov recruited a number of people living in various regions of Azerbaijan and instructed them to organize an assassination attempt on the head of the Lankaran district executive authority.

He was charged under Articles 28,120.2.1, 28,120.2.10, 28,120.2.11, 28,120.2.12 (preparation for a repeat murder by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on the basis of national, racial, religious hatred and enmity), 28,214.2.1, 28,214.2.3 (preparation for committing a terrorist act using firearms and objects used as weapons), 28,214-3.1 (preparation for training related to terrorism), 28,277 (preparation for an attempt on the life of a statesman) and 28,278.1 (preparatory actions aimed at the violent change of the constitutional order of the state) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
