Yesterday, more than 14 thousand manats were stolen from citizens’ bank cards, Report informs with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was noted that on June 17, amounts of 6970, 3823, 840, 830, 590, 300, 153, 120, 61 and 31 manats were stolen from the bank accounts of a number of individuals.
The report notes that such crimes occur as a result of citizens transferring confidential information to third parties, such as CVV/CVC codes, card expiration dates and one-time OTP codes.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that bank card details should not be transferred, even if the caller introduces himself as a bank employee. In case of suspicious activity, it is necessary to immediately stop contact, block the number and contact the police at 102 or the nearest police station.
