Over the first five months of this year, 2,042 people were brought to criminal responsibility for drug-related offenses in Azerbaijan.
As reported by Report, this was reported by the State Commission for Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.
Among those detained were 44 foreign citizens. A total of 447 kg 208.684 g of various types of narcotic and psychotropic substances were seized from them.
Law enforcement agencies recorded 101 cases of drug and psychotropic substance smuggling into the country. As part of these cases, 1 ton 196 kg 338 g of narcotic and psychotropic substances, 5,183 methadone tablets, and 13,194 tablets of potent drugs were seized from illegal circulation.
