The court has completed the announcement of the verdict in the Toplum TV case

The trial of the defendants in the criminal case related to Toplum TV, Akif Gurbanov, Alesker Mammadli, Ruslan Izzetli, Ramil Babayev, Ali Zeynalov, Mushfig Jabbarov, Ilkin Amrakhov, Farid Ismayilov and Elmir Abbasov, has continued. As reported by APA, the part of the verdict concerning Elmir Abbasov, Farid Ismayilov and Ilkin Amrakhov was announced at the trial in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Judge Azer Taghiyev.

Thus, the announcement of the verdict was completed. The defendants stated that they do not agree with the charges brought against them.

The trial will continue on June 30.

A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against the co-founders of Toplum TV Akif Gurbanov, Alesker Akhmedoglu (Mamedli), employees of this media outlet and the founding member of the III Republican Platform Ruslan Izzetli. A criminal case was initiated against them under Article 206.3.2 of the Criminal Code (Smuggling committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).

Then the detainees were charged under Articles 162-1.1, 192.3.2, 193-1.3.1, 193-1.3.2, 206.4, 213.2.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
