Criminal case opened over explosion at film studio

A criminal case has been opened over the explosion at a film studio in Baku. As reported by Oxu.Az, this was stated by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

It is reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating the explosion, accompanied by a fire, that occurred on June 26 at about 23:00 on the territory of the Azerbaijanfilm film studio named after J. Jabbarli in the Yasamal district of the capital.

Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was opened under Articles 314.2 (negligence that resulted in other grave consequences) and 224 (violation of the rules for accounting, storage, transportation and use of explosives, flammable substances and pyrotechnic products) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The preliminary investigation has been assigned to the Forensic Science and Information Technology Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Results will be provided later.
