A bribe-taking serviceman sentenced

The trial of the criminal case of the former company commander of the N-th military unit of the Ministry of Defense, Agamala Panakhov, has ended in the Baku Military Court. As reported by Oxu.Az, the verdict was read out at the trial chaired by Judge Jamal Ramazanov. The court sentenced A. Panakhov to 9 years and 7 months in prison.

According to the charges, the captain of the Ministry of Defense, company commander of the N-th military unit, Agamala Hiddatulla oglu Panakhov received bribes from servicemen serving in the company he led.

He was charged under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3 (fraud committed repeatedly by a person using his official position), 232.2.1, 232.2.3 (theft or extortion of firearms, ammunition, explosives and devices committed by a person using his official position) and 311.3.2 (accepting a bribe, committed repeatedly) of the Criminal Code.
